look at my hull for design, not damage

i don't know much about hull design, so i want somebody to look a the hull of my classic runabout. it's a 13.5' span america that i have been running with a 35hp classic johnson. it runs well and planes out pretty easily with two onboard and a bunch of gear. it only has two actual seats. i've been thinking of upping my horsepower game to 50 or so, but this boat is pretty light. i think 50 might be considered "overpowered" for it, but i expect it's not obscenely so. i guess what i want to know is, from the design of the hull, does it look like it might be the kind of thing that gets dangerous above, say, 35mph or so. i'll try embed the pics, but i've had bad luck with that, so i'll also provide links:

Pics aren't working for me . . . try posting on tiny pics or something similar and then use the tags or push the pic button and simply paste in the URL for the pic . . .

If this doesn't make sense go here for detailed destructions.

hokkay, here's another attempt at it. pretty sure the links work. i'll come back on edit and try to get some thumbs too. thanks for the patience.

for perspective, this boat is 13.5 feet long and has a 15" transom height.

I'm thinking that RDS21 is probably just the right motor for that boat. I'll bet it isn't rated for 50 hp, which was the next step up. It probably runs between about 27-30 mph now.

Looks like a fun combination. I'd be scared to hang one of the old fat 50s on it, to tell the truth.

Re: look at my hull for design, not damage

the current rds21b, 35hp is supposedly about 136 lbs. i would only consider 2-strokes from the era before all the extra weight and complexity. johnnyrude 50's are about 185 lbs. yammy's about 10 lbs lighter than johnnyrudes, and according to nada, 50hp mercs are only about 10 lbs heavier than the 35hp that's on there now.

mainly what i was asking about is the hull shape. was it designed by an artist/stylist, or an engineer? if i make it faster by way of more power, from what you can tell, will it become dangerous?

for example, the widest part of the hull is not towards the rear, like it would be in say, a bass boat. it's more forward like a 50's-60's runabout...which it is. but is that a bad thing for speed? i don't know.

i realize the question is a bit tech'y, and possibly above the knowledge level of ordinary boaters. it's certainly above mine :)
