Re: look at what i'm looking at getting.
My dad and i were looking to get a sailboat. so iv'e bin looking and i found this great price, good sails, good shape boat, and a good trailer. this boat is a 12.6' boat so i don't have to register it or have a title for it. thats another plus. It's will stay at mooring most the time. so the deal with my dad is that he pays for it and i will pay for what it needs like bottom paint paddle, anchor, any thing else that it needs.

RI boating laws....under 14' doesn't need a title...but you will have to register it.
You must have a Rhode Island Certificate of Number (registration card) and validation decals to operate your vessel legally on Rhode Island's public waters. The only exceptions are:
1. A vessel properly registered in another state using Rhode Island waters for 90 days or less or vessels from another country temporarily using Rhode Island waters
2. Ship's lifeboats or vessels used only for racing
3. A rowboat less than 12 feet long, or a canoe or kayak
