Well I had to go out and get more pictures, and take another look at the wiring. The wiring does look good. It has a circut breaker that will pop if too much is going to the smaller things like fishfinder, lights, and horn. Seems good to me.

I just thought this looked cool, so I took a picture.

Boatguy Pull the two canvas covers off on a warm day and wash them real good and put them in the house dryer, works wonders for new flexability should stretch right to the org snaps. Cautition use low heat and stay with it while it warms up. All the canvas on my 22 Holiday was origional and short it works fairly now with orig snaps.

Great find Boatguy. You will love the way it handles and the 85 should push it along real good. And welcome to the club.

Well the first trip went pretty darn good! Boat is great! Water was great! And I'm definatally happy with my purchase. :D

Only a couple things I need to watch out for next time. Tons of water in the bildge, so theres deifinatally some leaks, It'll do for now though untill this winter and she comes apart. She eats gas as well :D o well the power is worth it! Engine started up nicely and ran great while going, boy is there some power back there. I only hit 45mph ish and that wasn't even full throttle.

Now for some pictures. Videos coming in a bit.

Glad your happy with your rig, 45mph impressive. That is one trippy video though. The way your camera dealt with the light it made it look like 8mm from the '70's and it was weird to hear some wind and the water but not the motor at all. Thanks for posting it!

I know it's pretty bad quality :), it was with my point and shoot camera. Next time I'll get better stuff with my regular video camera it just wasn't charged, it does look neat though. As for the motor, it's very quiet even when running at full throttle!

Looked like a nice smooth ride! Congrats. What size prop are you running as I will have the same engine set up on my 16. I have several on hand as the PO gave me three or four with the boat and one of them has never even been on the boat.

Re: Look what made its way to my driveway!

Love your boat...the compass with the red light on at night looks cool...
how close can you have your battery without affecting the compass...??
I have a 1971 16ft Starcraft Supersport...I keep one battery at the stern
and a 2nd battery under the console on the passenger side..plan to use the
2nd battery for a trolling motor...I do have GPS with my Fishfinder...
but does not hurt to have a back-up...I love to add extras....
I have a SEA Kayak with a lighted compass...the light used a 9volt battery..
if I had the 9 volt battery anywhere close to the compass, it really affected
the compass
Was the 45mph checked with GPS??? with what prop-pitch and size?
I only have a 60hp johnson...45mph sounds awsome...really makes me
want to upgrade to an 85hp outboard....
I like the walkway on the trailer...hmmm...I don't see a roller under the front of the bow...was there ever one??...did the people who installed the walkway remove it??? I don't know if it is needed:rolleyes:...
Again...GREAT BOAT...WAY TA GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip Puget. I'll try it sometime soon, cause they are tight!

Thanks Dozer, it runs pretty good!:D

Congrats on the successful run!!

Thanks Ez, appreciate it!

Thanks Darren, I'm not sure about the size or pitch of the prop. I'm just new to boating so I need to figure out how to get those numbers  Then I can let you know.

Thanks Starcraft16SS! I'm not sure about the compass as my battery is in the back of the boat. I'll try something out sometime and let you know.
The 45mph probally isn't correct at all I was probally just seeing things, and a bit too excited, and inaccurate. Like I said before Im not actually sure about prop pitch and size I'll look into it and report back after going up north for the weekend.
Walkway is definatally handy, I don't think there was ever a roller there it's pretty well supported by the front winch support (not sure of actual name  )

Re: Look what made its way to my driveway!

Well another day on the water for a couple hours I don't know what I was thinking when I said 45mph top speed, since that was with the speedo thats probslly not accurate. I was also a bit too excited and read it wrong. I did keep up pretty well with a boat almost like archbuilders sleek. I'll try to get a more accurate speed sometime.

I've now got a list of things to do and fix this winter. I might as well write um here for future refrence.

-Redo paint
The paint is really starting to come off I think I'm almost down to bare alluminium on some parts of the hull

-Lots of leaks
Even sitting around for a bit not moving the bildge fills up pretty fast, I'm running the pump almost every 5 minutes.

That's pretty much all I guess for right now. I really want to take her up north to the Traverse area next year so a restoration would be nice, but she'll work just fine for a year of fun this year!

Re: Look what made its way to my driveway!

If you've got that much of a leak....stick a hose in it in the driveway and see where the water comes out. Might have a missing rivet or something. I had a similar circustance with my Jupiter. Turned out I had a pin hole under the knee brace. It streamed water. Plugged that with JB and that solved 75% of my issue.

Re: Look what made its way to my driveway!

EZ, I'll probally be doing that, but I've found my leak...

I was looking at the boat getting it hitched up to the rig and noticed some water on the ground as I was fiddling with the plug to put it back in. There was a big water area right under the middle rib that runs down the boat near the back. Sure enough I ran my finger up and there were about 4 or so spots where the chine was patched a bit on the seams. I found a spot where it would definatally be leaking, there was even water coming out through it. O well more work haha, then again I need it, I haven't even done any yet. I'll be getting some JB weld and trying that untill this winter. She needs a paint job badly  I've really blasted off quite a bit of the peeling paint from underneeth. Well out for some more "test" runs tonight as long as the weather holds off. The family is really likin this boat!
