Yeah, I know this isn't the right place for this, but so what! Most of the guys I know here hang out in the saltwater forum...or elsewhere!
Just sold my Key West tonight. Only had it listed for two weeks. A friends neighbor bought it. Good ol word of mouth. The KW was in great shape with only 117 hrs. Great boat but not big enough to overnight in or make the long trudge offshore to deeper water. I have to run 32 miles just to hit 60'.
As I have posted before...I have lived here my whole life, so not a rookie at going deep. We have two of everything and a well equipped ditch bag. Just needed some bunks and some fresh water. I have a handfull of boats in mind, but the KW, Sea Hunt, Scout and Robalo are all at the top of the list. Lots for sale, just need to see how serious owners are to part with them. I will update in this section and will entertain some ideas. All the boats listed are able to be towed by my 2004 Tundra with a 6500# tow rating. That eliminates the Gradys, some Wellcrafts, Seaswirl....wish me luck!!;)

Those are all decent choices, although we're partial to KW, lol. You're not looking at running twins huh? I really like the GW's in that size but they are heavy.

Right now Bob, she looks at her little tinny and thinks that's it! I hope to pick up a project boat, but we wont need it untill next Fall/Winter. The Blue Fin is also for sale, but I don't need both sold to go ahead with the newer, bigger offshore boat.
By the way, she says hello, and to say Hi to Tasha and Silvia....

Rick, I was just on the FS forum and under boating there's a thread about Sea Hunts, they sound like a possible route, you may wanna read up on them.

Thanks, Sam for the heads up...they are high on my list. One boat however is also looking good. Key West 2300 Bluewater with twin 115 Yamaha 4 strokes. It's a few counties away and we are awaiting some more info, but it looks promising. Right on the budget as well. If anyone has that model, I sure would like to hear from you!!

Re: Lookin for a Walkaround

Just a recap and an update...it looks as if our offer on the 2002 Key West 2300 Bluewater WA is accepted. Yes!!
We are down to the sea trial which we hope to make this coming Wednesday, June 24th. I really didn't expect to get this boat with our budget...the twin 115's are Yamaha 4 strokes with under 350 hrs on them. It is a seven year old boat, but everything is intact and solid. I will have a few details to work out myself; fresh water pump and front bilge pump. Also will do my own detailing...but for the drop in price, all that will certainly be worth it.
So, since showing up on this forum about a year ago, we have bought and sold four boats to make it to this one, All the boats were bought needing some work, however no motor swaps or anything really major. Many people here have assisted in either knowledge, support or both, and Barb and I were able to put a few faces on the names this past May at the Florida get to-gether. And since I just traded my Blue Fin in on the newer boat, looks like we will be looking for our next one!

Why not just invite you aboard for a ride, Ross!!
So, hows the 50 Johnson doing on the little boat? Are we testing yet?

Not testing yet. I got distracted a couple weeks ago by a... umm... ahhh... a female! Heh heh.

Was over at my neighbors tonight and my buddy and I were going to work on it together, along with his friend who is a certified marine mechanic. We were just getting organized when there came a call... my neighbor buddy had to take his grandma to town. I went back 90 minutes later but they'd not returned. Maybe Sunday we'll be able to fire it up. I hope.

Then again... my ladyfriend is coming over tomorrow night, so who knows? LOL! :D

Looking forward to hearing more about your new boat!
