ok guys been in the market for my first boat and like everyone else have felt the economy crunch,Momma said yes but not to spend too much(gave me a $2000 dollar budget)We live on lake erie and she had a few requirements to meet(she don't pee infront of ANYONE,high sides so my nine year old doesn't fall overboard, and something we don't have to pay s#*t loads to keep at a dock,or be a super small craft that would just be a bobber on the lake).Ok what i found and bought after months of searching both ebay and the area is a 1982 scorpion 210 with a cuddy and the jump seats in the rear next to the motor cover,it has a merc model 228 chevy 305 and a Mr outdrive(i believe).the boat is over all soild(floor, transom and stringers)the motor runns smoothly(has one cracked manifold that we found during a water test)the outdrive shifts smoothly and has been rebuilt in the last three years,so he said.the trailer it came with is a good solid welded(endcaps welded closed and all rails)single axle that needs some bunk work, roller work, two tires, and the lights were croded(not working).Anyway gave the guy $1300 for the whole thing and he gave me a new(still in ceolphane)garmin 140 fish finder!
the question is how well do the seasoned vets of IBOATS think i did in shopping for my first used boat?
