And I have some questions.

Boat looks solid needs some cosmetic work. All of the wood needs to be refinished and the doors to the cabin need some repair. Also the cushions are shot in the cabin and water got in from being poorly covered and their is a bad mildew problem. The owner says it is a Volvo Penta motor and stern drive but all I could see was 4.3 Liter OMC and an OMC Cobra Sterndrive.
Questions
1. How hard will it be to clean the mildew out of the interior carpeting? It also appears to have mildew in the overhead liner. I'd rather not have to rip out everything and replace.
2. Could someone help me identify the motor and sterndrive a little better? Any known issues? The motor looked very clean and the owner stated that his neighbor winterized it for him.
3. The owner said that the last oil change was two summers ago and that the boat saw little use last year. Upon checking the oil it appeared to be a light brown with a green tint to it. Not sure if that would be considered milky or just old with some condensation moisture in it. I am used to used oil looking dark brown. If there is water in the oil what can this be a symptom of and how serious (expensive)?
4. Like I said the motor and compartment were very clean and the engine looked well maintained.
I realize that it is an older boat and will need some work, just don't want to get in over my head with a complete resto. Oh yea.. the transom appeared to be very solid no wiggle in the stern drive or swim platform. If I do this deal I am trading a 2005 Arctic Cat Snowmobile that sees no use and my wife hates. Even trade.
Any info that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
