looking at purchase, any good? 1995 volvo 3.0

looking at buying a 1995 crestliner sportfish 1750 with the 3.0 volvo penta i/o> all i know is that this is some type of gm engine with 135hp! i'm an auto mechanic and looking for any info on this engine? what do i look at before purchase of this boat? are there any mods that can be done to increase power? what would top end be on this boat? is this engine a trust worthy engine? service life of engine? any info would be great! also is 6k to much for a clean boat with auto pilot bow mount, cover?

not familiar with the boat you want to buy, but the 3.0 is an excellent motor. Very reliable and should last a long time. However, regular maintenance is important to have a long lasting, trouble free motor. If the PO kept up with it, it should be good, if not, you never know.
NO, mods cant be done to it. Small stuff, maybe, but it is what it is. Just make sure that it is adequate power for the size and weight of the boat.
