Finally decided to do this. Looking for family boat for cruising, crabbing, swimming, etc mostly around Upper Chesapeake Bay. Family is me, wife and 12 yr old daughter. Found a 04 Bayliner 210 Classic. Friends steering me to outboard only. Also 2 stroke v. 4. Questions about Bayliner, yay or nay, the inbound/outboard v. outboard question and how much hassle to trailer boat to Florida Panhandle and back once a year? Comments very much appreciated.

Re: Looking for 1st boat

depending on your budget, late 90s to early 00s. about a 23' to handle chop and not get beat up. but not to big to overwhelm you as a first boat. im a car guy so i naturally wanted a inboard/outboard V8. i feel comfortable working on them. also god forbid i blow it up its only like 3 grand to get a new one. ever price a new 250HP outboard? i opted for a cuddy cabin cause i liked the idea of having a little home away from home. as far as the florida trip, the better the tow vehicle and the better the trailer the less hassle. :) i dont own a bayliner so i dont know any more than anyone else except what ya read. you do get a lot of boat for the money with a bayliner though. IMHO its how well cared for the boat was more than the name on the side.
