I just had the perfect boat for me, sold from under me... Guy told me it was mine, and when I went to go pick it up, he told me not to come because he sold it to someone else....

Anyhow, I am now in the search for another V5. I am using this boat to fish lake michigan and really want the v5 hull.

I have a motor already, but will take a boat with one on it if it comes with one. I can sell either motor later. I don't want to put a lot of cash into the purchase as I plan on doing a rebuild. So I don't want a $3000 boat! Looking for the 18' but might even consider a 22' for the right price. NO I/O's in either size though!

Anyone that can help me sniff one out, will greatly be appreciated. I will drive wherever I need to go pick it up, but prefer it be closer to Wisconsin.

Thanks guys!

Blue and white, $800. It had no motor, and I told the guy that I found a motor for it and bought the outboard. Told him that I'm taking his boat since I found a motor. He told me it was all mine. He was gone this weekend or I would have ran right over and brought it home. Now here I sit with an outboard and no boat.... arrrgh!

Re: Looking for '79 Holiday 18 V5

I spent the last 2 weeks reading about Starcrafts and reading all the restoration threads. The more I read, the more I fell in love with the boat! I kinda feel like I lost my puppy now that it was sold on me... I'm going nuts searching the internet trying to find another 18' V5. I'm just hoping someone here happens across one hiding somewhere for me!

Thanks,
Ben

If you are game for a total restore then check out some of the Islanders available.

Lots of them are V5 hulls and you could easily use it as-is or convert to a closed bow rig by adding a salvaged windshield.

The V5 Holidays and SS boats always go quick and are tough to find(unless they have a white OMC leg sticking out the stern).

Good luck to ya!

I looked into the Islanders, and you are right, great hulls. I would be interested in a 19' version though as anything longer is getting too big to drag around the distance I need to.

Thanks,

Ben
