Looking for a 1966 Evinrude 18 hp Fastwin part.

I hope this is in the correct forum.

I have just come into a 1966 Evinrude 18 hp Fastwin included with an old 1970 aluminum V boat that I am going to refurbish. The motor seems to be in decent shape with one major exception the lower group part number 80, which is the swivel handle and tiller connection has a nasty crack in it. The part is not listed by any dealer as available new for replacement (imagine that) and so I am looking to either find a used replacement that is solid or discover if anyone has successfully repaired the cast aluminum and if so how?

Depending on exactly where it is cracked, yes it can be welded by a pro experienced in aluminum welding.

Hi , I believe (check) that tiller parts from 18-28 hp OMC from 1965 to 1969 will be the same and should fit, OMC wasn't a company to waste leftover parts..lol. They're good solid motors.

From about 1958 to some 1984 motors , use the same bracket.----Should be easy to find.
