I ve got a 1968 Johnson 40HP that Id like to get back on the water. Any ideas for small boats (cheap) that may need some work to use with the 40?? Even inflatable...

Thanks.

Go to Fiberglassics.com. They deal in boats from the 50's and 60's. You can then get a good idea of the 14 foot boats of that era that are basically all over the place. They can usually be had for little or nothing, and can be built into really cool classic boats that always turn heads at the ramp.

if you're wanting a pleasure, ski boat, almost any 14 foot Aluminum. would be great. not a jon or open boat. the fiberglass were heavier, and not as responsive.

Is there an inflatable boat with console steering that could be used with my motor??

This boat is a classic 60's speedster Humber jewel.

thats a cool boat. This is perhaps more what Id like to get...something vintage that would scoot decent with a 40hp and one or 2 people onboard.

A Glaspar G3 would be very nice with your 40.
