I am looking for an inexpensive amp to power 4 polk db650 speakers. The primary reason I want to add an amp is so I can control the volume. I have a high end amp and speakers for the tower. I don't want to blast people when the volume is cranked to the tower. I would prefer the amp to be small in size. I don't have much room.

Check eBay. You can get a 200w amp for around $60-$100. That would be more than enough to bump up the 4 speakers without distortion.

I am a big fan of pawn shops for certain things...I got a 75w x 4 mtx thunder something or other for 45$ and it was mabey a year old...I got the alpine head unit in my truck now for like 85$(The rest of my 2200 watt system is cash and carry from a local audio shop)...If you look hard enough you can get a decent quality amp that's cheap enough to not care that its on a boat...

I found that amazon.com can offer the same prices that my uncle can sell me thru his shop in Kansas. there are good amps and cheep amps. I went Clarion in the sea ray. going with the Sony X-Plod amps in the Rogue

you can get a large amount of technical info at www.s-f-d.com
