17' fiberglass runbout almost flat bottom<br />13.25 x 17 aluminum prop<br />cav plate 1.25" below bottom of hull<br />wot 4800 rpm<br />35.6 mph GPS<br />1974 115 evinrude manual trim first or second hole does not make a difference.<br />What do you guys think?

You're about 1000RPM short of where it should be.<br />Your numbers show a tad over 7% slip, so I think the tach is off 300-400 (5100-5200 actual).

Even if the tach is off, it looks like you can raise the motor. That will help with the speed.

Yes it is a telflex tach the setting on back looks like it set on 6p.

We've seen quite a run lately of bad Teleflex tachs....6P is the correct setting though.

Might want to invest in a TinyTach. That way you'll know exactly what the rpm's are.

If you're going to invest in a tach, why not just go with a new BRP tach and have it done and over with???
