Got a 1987 johnson 175. Model j175tlcua. Looking for a good flywheel or aftermarket. Oem seems gone. Aftermarket out there? I can't find. Maybe someone knows something I don't know. Had two magnets come unglued. Believed preignition cylinder 5 and smoked a piston. So looking for a reliable one. Thanks

1987 model. If the flywheel is not damaged, you can re-glue the magnets into the flywheel. The factory makes two magnet kits just for this purpose: There is an adhesive kit which is the epoxy glue for re-gluing good magnets: 431929. The Magnet replacement kit includes the same epoxy glue and new magnets: 584304. These magnets have a history of loosening with age, so it may not have been due to anything other cause than old age.

Loose magnets didn't smoke cylinder...likely coked ring and it rolled off.
