Problem is I have is '79 75hp Evinrude boggs after moving boat from AZ to CO. Ran great in AZ but boggs when throttling up. Idle is ok. Have replaced fuel line including primer bulb and filter with no change. Squeezing bulb while bogging make no difference.

Curious if the motor should be re-jetted for higher altitude? If this is the case, I have found a rebuild kit for the carbs but do not know about a different part number for a new jet. Any ideas?

Find a shop near your Colorado home, preferably and old-time shop where you can get some good hands-on assistance. Ask around for shop recommendations.

After some exhaustive research, I found a forum from 2003 that had a listing of an Evinrude service manual chart for altitude and what jets need to be used. My 1979 75hp motor comes with the 55D jet which also shows on the parts schematics and the chart says that one is for 0 to 3000 feet, I need te 53D for 3000 to 6000 feet and there is a 50D for 6000 to 10000 feet. I also found a place to purchase them and the should arrive sometime next week.

Good luck. Might not be quite that clear cut, but sounds like you have the parts to experiment.
