Looking for a tach.

Ok so the tach on my boat doesnt work and I want to buyt a new one. What do you guys reccomend and where do I hook it up to? The boat is a 18.5 ft bayliner with a volvo pents aq120/270.

It hooks up to the same wires that are already there. If those wires are not hooked up properly then simply adding a new tach will result in another tach that doesn't work. Tachs need +12 volts when the key is on, ground, a light connection (all three are available from any other gauge on the panel except the speedo) and the SENSE signal comes from the ignition on the engine (typically the coil).
