Thank you all for your help. I got another related quesion on a boat what should I as a first time buyer look for. Places boats in my price range are prone to problems etc.. I am leaning towards the runabouts, bowriders, or a fish and ski as crusing and sking are more important than fishing. also what are the advantages of an aluminum versus glass hull?

Bowriders and deck boats are great all-around family day boats. Many of the deck boats have a head/shower/changing space, fridge, sink, etc.
