Looking for an early 1960s Detroit Marine / MFG steering wheel

Hi everyone, I'm currently working on restoring my family's 1961 MFG Westfield. Our original steering wheel was "upgraded" by the people that used to store our boat for us and we've been missing the original steering wheel ever since. I'm having a tough time finding replacement one, so I'm hoping that you can help me out or at least point me in the right direction.

I removed lots of hardware today from a 1963 MFG Westfield that's being junked. I wanted to get the wheel from it, but it was in such bad shape that it was breaking off in my hands. I was able to salvage the MFG center piece to it and get some pictures of what I need though.

I believe that the wheel was made by Detroit Marine. If I can get one that has the MFG center insert, that would be awesome. If I can find one without the specific MFG insert though, that's ok too because I can try to fix up the insert that I got today. Finding a white or a gray steering wheel would be preferred, but I'm not picky. I can paint it if I need to.

Here's a picture of the style of wheel that I'm looking for.

Thanks for your help!!
Sadie

You're already looking in the right places, wherever you got that soon to be scraped 1963 MFG.

You can try the places listed here

Or google Lanier marine in Dawsonville, GA

Might get lucky in the Kijjii (sp? sort of the canadian craigslist, right?)

And of course evil-bay..........

Good luck & might try to keep similar quests & questions in 1 thread instead of separate ones....
