Never said anything about highway scales. Had mine done at truck stop.

You can also get the rig weighed at places where they haul sand and Gravel. Ask around local. Somebody near you will know where you can get rigs weighed.

You can also get it weighed at the city dump, or county dump/landfill. I got mine weighed at a truck stop though.

The county landfill is closer to my house than any truck stops or highways haha.

Let me see if I get this straight. If I keep my class 3 hitch and add a WDH, I'll be okay to pull the full 6300lb capacity?

Here's my situation, I'm traveling 3-4 hours this weekend to buy a boat. The boat is a '05 21' Larson. Boat probably weighs 3500-3700lb. It sits on a tandem trailer and these weighs 1000lb? That's getting near the 5k limit w/out counting the gas. I guess I can burn as much gas as possible during the test ride to lower the weight. Should I let this worry me for the tow back? I'm going over the mountain pass as well.

as long as your trailer brakes are working you will be fine.

No! Not even if the boat tank is full of gasoline. If you really want to know the weight have it weighed at a scale. But remember it will change when you start adding your personal gear.
