Yeah, I'm in the poconos and some places it's either the wild west, or the bronx west.

I boat in wallenpaupack. nice lake. there is a camping/boat launch site on the mouth of the lake. Ledgedale marina and campground. I havent camped there but from what i see it looks very nice. I only launch my boat there. What is nice it they have slips for your boat while you are staying there. The lake itself is like i said very nice a few islands to pull up on great fishing and a few nice restaurants.

Yeah, Wallenpaupack is OK. We go there a few times a year. It seems to get rough pretty quick though. The fireworks show is pretty nice on the Fourth.

I've never used the ramp at ledgedale, even though it's closer. I always use the boat commission ramp up by the dam.

I always use Ledgedale when I go up to 'Paupack...gets us in the water faster and it's a beautiful ramp that launches into calm, speed restricted water. Parking can be a *****, though.

The parking can be a bit tight i only have a 18 boat but i have seen some rather large boats launched there. I like that it is right next to the river also. you can get out of the now wake zone really quick warm up the boat and be still be right next to the river for some nice fishing or just a lazy drive. The fireworks are really good also just dont plan on getting to your trailer anytime soon after the show

My wife & I were considering Wallenpaupak this summer too. It seems like a pretty popular destination, so I'm a little afraid of how busy it gets.

Lake Wallenpaupack has many different campgrounds around the lake. It does get busy and rough depending on where you are on the lake. Also about the same distance is the chesapeake bay. We stayed at a campground around perryville. I think the chesapeake is the better choice. As long as the weather is nice the water is great. Going out to the flats is a great time. Beltzville and Blue Marsh are fun, I know there are campgrounds within 20 min. blue marsh (don't know their names) not sure about Beltzville.
