Looking for Canadian fiberglass suppliers.

Just wondering what my fellow Canadians are using to gain supplies. The uscomposite website looks great but just wonder if theres a Canadian equivalent to save on shipping and what not. Thanks guys.

I haven't found a supplier in Ontario. Checked HH, HD, Rona and Lowes. I am after the epoxy resin and Gluvit. Anyway I travel to the US often and will bring supplies home with me.

I'm midway through the rebuild of my 1964 Powercat, and I've purchased some supplies from Noah's Marine. They are located in Ontario, their prices are fair, and they have a good selection.

There is also Pride Marine, also located in Ontario. I haven't purchased anything from them yet, but they seem to have a good selection as well.

I don't know exactly where you live, but you might be able to find a boat repair shop in your town. I called everywhere listed in the phone book, and no one had the stuff I was looking for, and no one could suggest anywhere to me. Then I just happened to drive past a building with "Mr. Fiberglass" on the door, I went in, and wouldn't you know it was a boat repair shop. I ended up buying my resin from him as he gave me a fair price and free advice.

Ya im familiar with Noahs and Pride marine is only an hour away from me.. where are you guys getting 1708 from? Pride marine dosnt seem to sell resin other than bondo.. Noah has resin but i cant find their hardeners for it on the website.

I'm really interested in what your landed cost will be. In my experience chemicals always seem to cost a lot to get across the border. I hope I'm wrong and that you did find a great deal.

I was quoted $150 for the West Systems kit and $140 for the East Systems kit. Both were 5:1 ratio and 1.2 G. This was from a Toronto plastics supplier.

The US Composites price for 2 G resin and 85 oz hardener runs $128. I added pumps to my order. Add shipping on top of that for $185. I am getting twice as much product for nearly the same cost. I know there will be duty charges so we'll see what the final cost amounts to. Regardless this was the way to go for me.

I travel to the US often but I don't want to risk the airlines/TSA not allowing me to bring the product on my return flight.

Thanks for the info guys, just a bit of a brain fart about resin. Any and all resins use MEKP as hardeners right? Any resin from any manufacturer can be purchased and used with MEKP? with specific mixing instructions?
