My evinrude manual recommends OMC Special Tool #317002 which is a fixed jet screwdriver for removing the high and low speed jets from the carb.
I have a 1972 Evinrude 100HP V4 model 100293
I know it's possible to use a small screw driver to remove the high /low speed jets from the carb, but I've got some really stuck good high speed jets that I fear I will strip if I try to do this on the cheap.
Is there an equivalent Bombadier tool that Iboats or someone sells for this special tool?
On this carb the inlet jets can be removed with a standard flat head screw driver type of bit if you are desperate, but the jet is center drilled, so I assume the tool looks like a flat head screw driver but with a circular protrusion down the middle so it really perfectly engages the center orifice in the jet when you turn it, and it keeps it from brushing up against the threads inside the channel that you are unscrewing the jet from.
The next time I clean my carbs, I want to really do them right, so having this tool would be great.
