Hi - I'm looking at buying my uncles 1987 22' centre console (MR220?) It's stored about 5 hours away and unfortunately he's struggling with his memory and can't give me too many details. I've only seen it from a distance a few years ago but I know he's kept it in great shape. It will be an "upgrade" on my 84 Sea Nymph SC1750 so fishing on Lake Ontario should be a bit more comfortable. Does anyone have any experience with this model boat?

I assume it's an 87 model the HIN number is STRU6675C787. Thanks.

Well.. I think you'll find this group to be a little partial to the Starcrafts.

But, If your vehicle can tow it, and your able to handle a slightly bigger boat.. I say go for it..

Can he send you some pictures ? ( we love pictures )

I've been on a few small boats even a home made 40' house boat, and a 2008 Glastron bowrider.

I love my Starcraft even if all the rivets decided to let go all at once and sank to the bottom of a lake, I would find a way to bring her back up and save her.

GO GET IT !!! then Sell your current boat. Or go there, go for a ride then decide, I think you'll never look back.

Good Luck!!

Ha! I figured I was speaking to the converted. I guess I could be a bit more specific. I can find photos of later versions of the MR220 and they have real nice shapes and lines and appear from what I've seen some were pretty well fitted out (storage, tanks, trim etc). I understand Starcraft went through an ownership change (a few times) so I guess I'm trying to see if the basic shape and design remained constant or changed from 87 to the mid 90's (the period that I've managed to find some photos and read some reviews). Thanks again.

OK - now I feel stupid - first search after the last post found this link to an 89 220 . This is not my uncles boat but I imagine pretty close though in much worse condition. Anyone owned one of these in this vintage and how does she handle in open water? Thanks.

27.6 - Sorry - the ad must have been removed - link goes to general ebay page.
