looking for correct motor for my boat

I've been looking for a motor for my boat it's a 16ft 1989 marlin ski-boat.the tag on the boat reads maximum hp at 155.Every on e i talk to tells me that is way too big.A 90-120 is lots.I don't wanna get stuck with an underpowered boat.Any ideas??

Once you get to 150 and above you are looking at a 6 cyl & much more wieght. Take a look at some of the 115-135 hp 4 cylinders - iboats has em. Any of those should give you plenty of performance.<br /><br />Oh and a BIG welcome - - let us know what you come up with.

thanks for the info...i checked the weight diff.of a 90 merc and a 150 evinrude and there was only a diff of 15-25 lbs.do you have any idea how much the boat weighs?Thanks
