The last I heard, used ones were going for 1200 bucks. NO ONE makes them any more. Before you spend a lot of money on one, the manifolds, risers, and gear sets for the outdrive were as scarce as the couplers. They also aren't made anymore, by anyone.

PS: The bolt pattern for the 460 coupler is not the same as anything else.

Try Doug Russell's, he had some ebay not too long ago I think for around $5-600, they were supposed to be new.

I guess I should have hung on to mine!

Doug Russell did have a few and I also did see 1 or 2 on ebay (being offered by Doug Russell) in the last 3 months or so.

The Doug Russell parts site now indicates "Please Call" .

I think they find "New Old Stock" parts from time to time. You may have to call them and see where they are with couplers.

When I pulled my 460 a couple of years ago, I investigated using a Bravo coupler. The 460 coupler bolts to the crankshaft using studs where the fly wheel connects.

The Bravo coupler bolts to the flywheel much like a clutch pressure plate. It appears that one might be able to use a Bravo coupler by having the flywheel drilled at a machine shop. You'd probably need to use a Bravo yoke if it's different (the U-joints are the same). Side by side they appeared the same.

I was going to go down that path but I also wanted to ensure that I could get manifolds. When I discovered that manifolds are also pretty scarce...I went in a completely different direction...

Now would be a good time to find a donor boat (or another boat) with a Volvo Penta or Merc engine/drive combo in it

If you have to replace the manifolds your only 2 choices will be adapters/454 manifolds or hand made SS manifolds Either case is VERY expensive.

Good luck!
