Not wanting to spend a fortune on a wakeboard tower, but I am wanting to have additional storage for our water toys when out playing. I'm thinking of building a small storage tower above the outboard of my new-to-me Larson. The area that I'm considering looks very similar to this:

I'm thinking of adding small platform w/verticle supports onto the existing rail shown in the pic, and more supports attached the the transom. I'm not wanting to hold a large amount of weight, but to have a dedicated area to strap our ski tube and knee/wake boards when someone is not using them. I play around with welding/fabricating, so I basically just need a few ideas. Your thoughts?

Re: Looking for ideas......

if you are a welder......make a rack !

i would be leary of placement so far back......(due to weight issues over the transom high in the air....)

that is just one of the reasons towers are amid ships especially with the under 22 ft crowd.

but this is your boat......you can make it be and do what ever you want !

if you do......you will need to counter with forward weight.......but again...that is weight...
boats are a trade off....to gain something, you have to loose something.

what about a swim grid?

Google explained it to me. You are meaning a swim platform, no? If I had an I/O, that would be a consideration. However, for what I'm thinking of, a platform would have just as much weight, but would drag in the water.

You are a welder, so make your own Wake Tower...the cost of materials won't be more than a couple hundred bucks and you can custom design/build to fit your needs perfectly...I would guess...

Have Fun!
