I have a 2003 - 1903 center console, which has the original 14.5 x 19 pitch alumn prop. It's has some nicks from prior owner, plus I want to go with a SS prop.

I run in the north Chesapeake and it can go from calm to 2-3' waves with wind. I use this for fishing & cruising the C&D canal. I am happy with the performance, could use a slightly better hole shot, but don't want to lose the top end (I cruise with some buddies who run near 50-55mph)

I was told to go with same pitch and I was also told to drop 1 pitch when switching to SS.

I was looking at:
MW apollo 14-1/8" x 19
Solas new saturn 14" x 19
Stilletto Advantage 14-1/4" x 19
Quicksilver silverado 14x19

Current info:
1903 center console Trophy weighs approx 2350#, plus gear/people. It holds 55 gallons of fuel (which I normally run 1/2-3/4 full), 2-3 people & approx 100# of gear
2003 Mercury 150 OB Saltwater (2 stroke carbed)
will turn 5200-5300 rpm WOT with 2 people & 2/3 full of gas and run right around 38-39 knots

This is my first OB.

Thanks for any input.

You provide a lot of very good information. One thing would be helpful is the motor rating for max rpm. I might assume upwards of 55 to 6K, but please confirm.

Definitely drop the inch going to SS... It grips the water much better out of the hoe and at top end, and thus would yield lower rpm. Drop 2" to a 17P if your rated rpm is 55 or above. You will then see even better hole shot and higher speed at wot.

Good Luck with it!
