Having trouble finding a 5 blade stainless steel propeller in stock. I ordered one two days ago and it was cancelled due to not in stock. I am looking to get a better hole shot when pulling a tuber.

1) Performance issue you are trying to correct.
Hole shot / acceleration
2) Current prop manufacturer, model, aluminum or stainless as a minimum.
it is aluminum 3 blade
3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required).
no idea, it came with the boat when i bought it
4) Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load (very helpful)
took it out the other day and it was hitting ~44 MPH @ 5800 RPM
5) Engine/drive make, model, year, and HP
2013 mercruiser 4.3L MPI 220 HP
6) Boat make model, year, length and weight
2013 hurricane ss 201

How does the pitch of the current prop help? It’s only a 3 blade.

Do you think the marina will let me borrow their tachometer?

I ran through the Mercury prop selector and it recommended this:

Mercury High Five (13.5" x 17") RH Propeller 48-821154A46

The pitch of the prop is how much bite the prop takes with each revolution, i.e the angle of the blade. In theory a 17" prop would advance 17" through a solid in one revolution. Water is of course not solid but this is a standardized way of expressing this dimension. Much more can be said but bottom line...pitch is very important in understanding your propping situation.

it is a starting point for next prop selection. Your tach is off as an rev limiter will kick in at 5200 or so. What your current prop pitch is and your current wot rpm will determine what you do for the next prop.

for example if yiu are running a basic three blade like a blackmax - say 19” pitch and getting close to your recommended wot rpm limit 4800-5000 i suggest you go with an aluminum 4 blade like a 18” michigan vortex for better holeshot. I would cut your teeth prop selection with aluminum before you soend the bucks for ss . The vortex is an excellent value and cheap as far as boat stuff goes
