Re: Looking for Options & Opinions
I do agree with allpoints360.
I feel because I didn't then, know enough (& I trusted him), to ask if the $ 1800 lower unit was used or if it was used and reconditioned, I was taken advantage of.
And the whole situation just pisses me off.
I replaced the sending unit, added a fuel flow unit with as 10 micon filter, added a shut off valve, H2O seperator filter and replaced all fuel lines. When I took it in to have the steering replaced, I ask them to check it out and figure out why the motor keeps cutting in & out, spluttering. Afterall, they had tuned it up, they should be able to tell me what isn't right.
They came back with "A kink in the line". BS... turned out to be air from a loose filter fitting. They can't tell the difference between no fuel or air in the fuel line. Or didn't care to find out.
And then I found that they didn't reconnect the hoses, or put the floor cover back on, or put the canvas cover on the boat before parking it under a tree or even put the motor back in the same mounting bolts that it was in to begin with.
It used to rest on the transon, now it is 3/4 inch above. Screws are missing from the carb casing, screws are missing from the electronics cover (all the ones at the bottom that are hard to get to).
Sloppy stuff he wasn't there to supervise. That is what really pisses me off.
Damn, now you got me going again.
