I found a link that mentioned a link by Rodbolt, that had a nice link and sync procedure, but after almost two hours of searching and reading through numerous posts, I can find it.
I have a 1989 Johnson 150 HP - Model Number J150STLCEM - and have only had it out once. Totally let my Grandson down, as he was all pumped up to go tubing.
The engine bogs down as soon as I get to 3000 RPMs and just bogs down. Dry gas, new fuel filter and carb rebuild still doing it. Had a friend for for a ride with me with the cowl off and he was able to get it up to full speed by playing with the linkages around the carb, and he said I need to do a link and sync from what he knows about marine engines. Thus my interest in trying to find your procedure.
thanks a bunch
