Looking for someone with a 1750 crestliner sportfish

hello I’m looking for someone with a similar boat. 1997 crestliner 1750 sportfish. 3.0 Volvo Penta. I have some prop questions if anyone could help.

Not an exact match, but I have a 2001 Superhawk 1800 with a Mercruiser 3.0 (140HP). My boat is heavy, rebuilt with 3/4 decking, 5 batteries, 3-400# of other gear when fishing...

I tried several 3-blade props and then bolted on an 18P Alpha4 4-blade prop, perfect match for the boat! Not saying the pitch is correct for your boat, but the stern lift with the Alpha4 gets my boat on plane quick, 3-4 seconds. I also have a 16P 4-blade Michigan Wheel for hauling a bunch of people or high altitude, but it's not a stern lifting prop, points the bow to the stars getting on plane. So not all 4-blade props are stern lifting....

What’s your top speed with your 3.0? I’m topping out at around 37mph.

I just purchased a Stainless Volvo Penta 14 3/4x17prop. Just tired of replacing the aluminum every few years. Hoping I might get a little extra top end too, I guess I’ll see.

WOT it runs 35MPH, 4600 RPM is WOT on my engine. I've had the Aplha4 prop for 5-6 years, just a couple minor dings in it, still runs smooth.

Good luck with the SS prop, hope it's good match for your boat. 17P should get out of the hole well. I don't worry about top end speed and usually cruise at 3500RPM

Ayuh,..... What are you hittin' with the aluminum props, that you can only get a few years outa a prop,..??

I'll mention, that while ssteel props might take abit more of a beatin',.....
The damage/ impacts transfer, further up the driveline, into the drive,....

Sand and gravel. Anything that takes little knicks out of aluminum.
