wow good idea murdock will look into that one.. Sanger i had a ballistic on my 85 champ rude 150, (as you cats call it here) lol..it made such a diff in speed i fell in love,and your rite i have not tried any other type or wanted to after that,i guess i'll just hang with the slower speed cuz i realy wanted a smaller boat for my style of fishing..once again you guys ROCK!!!i am so glad i have started to come here, dont realy get into this much cuz my spelling sucks

oh my god so i go to the merc sight to check my engine and this is what they came up with for my boat..rpms 5125..wot 54mph with a get this 26p lasser2 or trophy..man i was way off i guess running out to buds gps and gonna take a new look at my wot stats for you guys..man im glad i came here befor i got that new prop..need to spend more time looking sted of just dumping that throd and fishing.lol..

FOR WHAT ITS WORTH IM NOT A PROP EXPERT I DO HAVE A LASER 2 22 PITCH PROP I DONT THINK MUCH OF IT.I HAVE AN OLD BEAT UP 23 PITCH QUICKSILVER SS PROP IT HAS A BETTER HOLE SHOT& TOP END SPEED IS BETTER. I JUST ORDERED A TURBO 23 BY 13 1/4 SS THEY DONT MAKE THE QUICKSILVER PROP ANYMORE.I WILL CHECK THE RESULTS OF MY NEW PROP THIS WEEKEND. GOOD LUCK

Merc's prop calc.. is always way off! If murdockjr1 is right then you are set up right.

Most of the manufactures are raising their WOT specs a bit anyway. 5400 isn't going to hurt it..<br />It's an air pump, that's all it is...if it won't handle 5400, Merc truely is junk...it has a limiter anyway, if you haven't hit it, you're nowhere near the danger zone.

for whats its worth i just tryed my new turbo prop iwas impressed with performance.good hole shot.good speed good rpms still playing with jackplate.raised motor up a hole couldnt really tell a whole lot.my prop is 131/4 by 23 17.5 ft bass boat 1998 120 force motor.if this is any help to you.i couldnt gps batt.dead last gps reading 50mph.with 22 pitch laser 2.ive never hit my rev limiter.
