I looked up those part numbers and it shows that its a plastic looking elbow? Is that right? I would think it would need to be metal...can someone tell me exactly what size elbow I am looking for and that I can tell them in Ace hardware that I need?

The factory part is plastic, works just fine. I think the last time I bought one it was 1/8" pipe thread that goes into the block with a 1/8" nipple.

Use the plastic. Bronze will cause electrolysis with the aluminum in the block.

Plastic is fine. I agree on the different metals causing electrolysis.

If you boat ONLY in fresh water, may be not a big deal.....BUT.

Ok, thanks guys! It just threw a flag on the play in my mind when I saw plastic being fitted into metal...so I can just walk into Ace Hardware and ask for 1/8" pipe thread and 1/8" nipple?
