I have been having problems with the lower unit on my motor for some time now, and I am sick of messing with it myself. (Over my head at this point)
I took it to a local place and what a HUGE, HUGE, mistake that was. This guy knows ABSOLUTELY nothing about working on motors, and I warn anyone in the Cincinnati area to avoid him at all cost!!!
I dropped my boat off to him, explained the problem I am having and asked for an estimate for repairs. We agreed he'd need an hour to look at it ($90/hr). A week and a half go by, I hear nothing. So I call him and he starts laughing and says, "Yeah, my guy worked on it for the better part of a day and can't figure it out. He broke your prop, but I'm going to take care of it. It must have already been repaired once, because he was only using a plastic barrel, Ha ha"
When I get there, I take one look at the piece of the prop that was broken and it was actually twisted on one end, it hit more than a plastic drum I said.
Anyway, I know there are good mechanics out there that get a bad rap from idiots like this, so if anyone here(from here) can give a recommendation I would appreciate it.
(Sorry I had to edit out the name, we don't bash other dealers, mechanics, etc.) Thanks LadyFish
