Heard back from seller today boat was sold. ~SIGH~
So the search continues! All the info everyone has provided is greatly appreciated and been very helpful. Looking forward to the search, if everyone's willing to look forward to all the questions. ;)

Don't worry about the questions there are some very chatty follks here that are more than willing to help and most are very experienced with what they are doing. It's been said before by others that this is one of the friendliest and most helpful forums on the internet.

too late now, but that "damage" is typical and nothing to worry about.

You don't put a OB kicker on a boat that small. Indeed, many people run that boat with just a 9.9.

Next boat, be sure it's rated for the motor. No need to go into it now, but that 70 is just wrong.

Believe it or not the boat was rated at 70 max. Both on the tag and on the McKee sight, along with the Mckee topics here. Although i know where your coming from.

bonz_d : This is by far the best site i came across! Great people, very knowledgeable i have learned a great deal from reading many of the posts in the past several days. I highly suggest this site to anyone looking into boating even thous who are experienced.
One of the biggest mistakes i did make was taking my wife along. Now things are going from a fishing boat to looking at a fishing /cruising boat like the Four Winns Deckboat.

Bummer Burgh - I thought you had bought it! Don't sweat it too much: plenty of others out there.

Sorta' - sometimes your wife's "vibe" is worth listening too. Mine has scored some big points in the past just by my going with her "I dunno', I just don't feel good about it..." The McKee you were looking at is a fairly cramped fishing boat. If you can find a slightly larger boat center console of walk-around, you can probably fit some folding deck chairs on board and have a fairly nice cruising boat too.

You keep "mama" happy about boating ... you'll enjoy it even more :p
