Not sure your year, but removing the impeller is not too much truble. Remove the bolts at the foot, including the one up under the foot, but not completely until you get the shirt rod loose. remove the shift rod nuts on the Starboard side of the engine and push the rod through until it comes out of the shift rod under the carbs. Then support the foot, remove the last bolt and slid the foot off. The impeller will be seen on the top of the inside of the foot. Take care with all bolts to reassemble. Also, do not hold the foot witht he shift rod as it will pop out and force you to rebuild the foot. Be sure to put some lit oil or grease on the fins of the new impeller prior to reassemble.
