Hi guys. I have a slight problem with my 200 mercury... again!!! Went out to the local lake yesterday for fun on the water. All went well while towing the tubes and wakesnake until I pulled out the skis! It will pull the skier out but then looses almost all the power. It will also loose power at hi rpms. As my tacho is not working I don't know at what exact rpm. But when i take it back to idle or running at low speed and rpm it seems to be fine. Could this in anyway be linked to a CDI problem or do the carbs just need a good clean?

Re: Losing Power

could be both, also check compression. if loosing compression, it will idle ok, but loose power under load.
