My wife says if my head was not attached it would be lost too!

Anyway Had a good time on the putt=putt lake(no wakes allowed). Everything went well Bro-in-law and Sister had a great time cruising and eating/drinking on the lake. The 9 year old got to drive for a few hours too! She loves to drive!
Ont the way home the new tow vehicle feels so good! But upon getting home we have lost a cushion!

Wife says you need to attach it like your head. :p

Re: Losing things

Hmm, just watch out for stranded women along that route. Most likely someone is donating their wife.

I have lost a transom support in the water once. It was our first time in the water with the old boat. We forgot to remove the transom saver. So we did it while floating next to the dock. The wife and I were not communicating well. She was on the left side of the out board. I was on the right. I had removed the lever, and was just getting ready to say wait for me to say go when she pushed it toward my side. The next think I know is that I miss it with my hand just before it disappears into the lake.

Re: Losing things

Saturday while perching on lake erie, had 2 poles positioned along the back of the boat within reach of me....a larger then expected wave come by and I knock my one pole in the water......45 minutes later fishing with my one and only pole,I get a nice hit and start realling up a perch, as I pull it into the boat I see the perch is tangled up into my other pole,s spreader.....I end up losing the nice sized perch, but I caught my pole back....

Still ended up losing the tourney, but came home with the same # of poles I started with.

Re: Losing things

we were camping about 300 miles from home.... been having problems with the motor so it never came unhooked from the tow vehicle. Took out the tools decided I needed a part.... loaded everything up in a hurry cause it started to rain and headed for town. Drove 20 minutes and took a wrong turn. Went to turn around and I heard a sound like a few things fell off the boat... went back and took a look...couldn't find anything. Got the part.... went back to camp and went looking for my wrenches.... Damn there gone. Luckily I had a few old ones in the tow vehicle I could use.

Still have no idea how I could have left them on the back of the boat...let alone driving for 20 minutes before the fell off. I guess thats what I get for makin a wrong turn.

Hats. I lose hats. Lots of hats. I hope someday to learn to turn my caps backwards before slamming the throttle forward. So far, I have not learned anything, except that the local Salvation Army store sells all their baseball-style caps for 50 cents each. I'm a regular customer.

True hats are a big one for me to, also sunglasses and pocket knives

I once left a buddy at the ramp before going home by accident (or atleast he thinks it was an accident)

Re: Losing things

I was out on the lake trying to adjust the carb, while my buddy drove. Sitting on the transom and lost a full unopened can of Skoal. It fell out of my jacket pocket and slid down off the back.

Was that God's way of telling me to quit?

Re: Losing things

I think the most expensive thing i lost was a 1911 colt Automatic that slid out of the sholder holster when i was pulling the anchor up. I dove and tried using a magnet on that spot for a week with no luck finding it.

I lost a buck knife that way once, but a 1911. What a horrible death, to drown at such a young age.

Lost a digital camera once passing between boats. Pretty stupid, so the lake gods bit us . . .

Re: Losing things

I've lost a hat and an anchor this year...hat blew off when I went to WOT and the anchor came off the line while anchored near a beach area. Couldn't figure out why the boat kept moving towards the beach...never found it, and it was only in 5 ft of water...but muddy and couldn't see it.

When I was 16 I took my girlfriend out for ride. Nice evening cruise. That's when it happened. I lost my virginity and I don't even have the box it came in. Sorry mods, couldn't resist. Tried my best. See ya later. ZAP!

Re: Losing things

Important lesson - A full unopened can of Skoal will float! I tried it after I got home, dang I shoulda turned around.

I'd have been over the side after it
Thought about it, but it was spring of this year and the water temp was around 60 degrees.

thats as hot it gets up here: that's why I wear a drysuit :D

I could get me a habit of following boats waiting for cans to fall over the side ;)

1911 colt in a shoulder holster? what in the world were you fishing for? :)

I lose sunglasses...perch 'em on top of the cap, go to full throttle, feel cap about to blow off, wild grab at cap knocks glasses into the drink. Hats, I go back & rescue.

This year
lost: 1 stowaway nav light.
found: 1 bass boat seat, very nice.

Re: Losing things

In the never ending stories of dumb things we do... several weeks ago the girlfriend and I went to a lake in the mountains camping for a few days. She has been out a few times but not real experienced in boating. Anyhow after watching her close for any transgressions over the trip and feeling pretty good that we had the boat back on the trailer I pulled the keys out to put them in my pocket. We drove down about 2 miles to get breakfast and when we walked behind the boat there were the keys laying on the transom where I had put them instead of in the pocket. She picked them up and dangled them as only a woman can do and said something about who needs to keep an eye on who and similar things. I had to eat crow for breakfast I'm afraid!
