Any advice is appreciated.

E225FPXSSC
Motor runs excellent.
New water pump (regular maint only) about 5 hours ago
1st 5 hours pump worked great
now losing pressure - as 15 psi is reached i get a sudden drop to 5 or so psi
under 2k rpm OK - if i let it idle and regain pressure
Temp climbs on both heads (I have a switch on my temp gauge to flip from port to starboard) and approaches 180 so I slow down regain pressure and it cools back down to 120 or so
Service manual say should not exceed 150 degrees
So I defenitely have a problem - both the temp gauge and water pressure gauge tell me so
Question is how do I troubleshoot - BRP Service Manual simply says to troubleshoot cooling system but does not suggest how.
Here's what I've done so far:
Pulled water pump - inspected - looks great - as new
back flushed while the l.u. was off hoping to find debris but only got a clean water stream
reinstalled pump - problem persists
pulled water blow off valve and ran motor - appears clean - problem persists
Tried to pull T - Stats - frozen - need to get a better socket on them
Any ideas?
I'm thinking a blockage but where?

Thanks! - Steve

The water pressure gauge is hooked to the back of the exhaust housing on the block near the bottom -- Looking at the schematics in my other service manual seems that is one of the first stops after the water pump and then water tube - i.e. it's not downstream of the T Stats, water blow off valve, EMM, etc.

Therefore would seem my blockage is somewhere between the water pump and the powerhead.

Can anyone confirm that concept?

I took off the plastic screens and backlushed. No debris. My next step is to pull l.u. again, pull the pump and wear plate off to get to the channel below the pump - hoping something may be in there....

Theory being it doesn't clog up until there is enough suction....

Thoughts?

Man, I wish someone would have responded to your post... I have a 2000 115 with same issue. Did all the same things you did to check to restrictions but definitely missing the part or spot that's causing the loss of pressure. Anybody...Anybody...
