'72 Merc 1150, when i squeeze the fuel supply line primer bulb until it gets firm, start the motor and run the boat for say 20 minutes or so, shut it off, how long (time wise) should the primer bulb stay firm? Also, the other day when sitting in the direct sun for some time, i noticed some gas oozing from the primer bulb where it is clamped to the line itself.

in only 20 minute you shouldn't have to pump the bulb again - gas shouldn't be leaking out from the clamps -either tighten them up and see what happens or replace the bulb and hose for that matter - the bulb has a check valve in it that will deteriorate over time - and a little faster if its an old one that isn't alcohol resistant .
