Re: Lost my Son

Our families thoughts and condolences are with you, I am sorry to hear this, I can imagine what you are going through, although I have never lost a child, I did loose my sister a few years ago, and we were not close, it has changed many things in my life.

Just know, we are here, we are understanding and we are standing with you. May peace be with you.

Well SS, I'm not sure what to say or type to that kind of terrible news. You have my condolences and I wish you strength and positive peace of mind in dealing with and moving on from this kind of tragedy.
Hang in there.
Respectfully,
BP

Re: Lost my Son

Thanks guys for your support. I'm doing much better now. I have a apple tree that I go sit under and gather my thoughts and do my praying. No phone, radio, or anything for a distraction. Talked to David's mom here lately. Now I got the full story, I understand. Narrow road and both drivers were left of center on a hair pin turn. If you ever drove in West Virgina, you know what I'm talking about. The other driver was in intensive care for 2 weeks and had almost lost his life. I'm angry that my son is gone, but not angry at the other guy now. His BAC .08. In this accident, both was wrong.

Re: Lost my Son

I'm not religious myself, but I do love a good poem. Herewith, hope it serves.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I just saw this and needed to say I'm real sorry for your loss, SS. Such a needless tragedy all the way around.

Re: Lost my Son

SS sorry to hear of your loss, it can be hard, someone should have notified you sooner. I lost my brother on sept 2nd, it has bothered me since. He was to come over for dinner and since he wasn't there I went to get him, did not take phone, when I walked in I smelled his part of the meal cookinng in the oven that was just done, that would have taken about 30 minutes in the oven. I will leave at that.

Re: Lost my Son

I just now saw this myself and I am very sorry for your loss.

I know he's not of your political persuasion, but Joe Biden shared his story with the TAPS (Tradegy Assistance Program for Survivors) National Military Survivor Seminar back in May. He lost his wife and young daughter to a traffic accident. One of his comments, and I paraphrase, "There will come a day...I promise you... when the thought of your lost loved one brings a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eye". That thought meant a lot to me after my wife passed in April.

I've found that there's nothing anybody can say that will cure grief, it just takes time - and sometimes a lot of it. Be well and I will be praying for your peace and healing.
