lost neutral..hard to shift

Stay in forward or reverse wen I put in neutral..and I have to use force to put in gear..thanks for any help.need quick fix summer ending..I have bay liner cierra.1986

what drive? Did this happen suddenly or you were doing any maintenance or fixes?

Did you make sure your shift cable is adjusted?

Keve, you didn't loose neutral. It is still there, you just can't access it now. So thing do need adjusted out...

In a nut shell the shift interrupt switch momentarily short circuits the ignition when the cables strain allowing you to pull it out of gear.

First you would have to look at it to see if that is the problem and then fix whatever part of it is not working.

Did this happen suddenly or you were doing any maintenance or fixes?

Did it used to work and now it doesn't after the cable swap?

Does it come out of gear easily when it's running on the flusher on the trailer?

I had issue with sifting stayin in gear so had cable fixed ..now I can get int both gears but no neutral...didn't try out water
