i bought a 1968 electramatic 100 hp johnson outboard v4. it ran great for about 20 hrs and than all of a sudden it lost the spark! the first thing i did was checked the power to the pulse pack and it was good.as was the ground. i did not have any volts to the pulse transformer at cranking. i ordered a new pulse pack and pulse transformer. if these parts dont fix my problem what else could it be? is there something i might be over looking? any suggestions would be great! thanks.

How did you measure the output to the pulse transformer? You can't do it with an ordinary multimeter.

EDIT: Just for the record, those pulse packs were notorious for just flat quitting 10 miles from the dock and working fine by the time you finally get it back to the shop. As I recall, Ford cars did something similar. So did my Dodge truck. Ah, the good old days.!!

yes it was a multimeter. i was told that would work. obviously not! if these parts dont fix the problem than i will have a huge bon fire and burn this f#$%^&g boat! thanks
