Lost Starter Key - 1967 Runabout Traveler

What do I do now? Purchased boat 2 years ago this summer. Still have not had in water due to lost key. Believe motor is 65 hp outboard evinrude (inboard/outboard?)...... Need some suggestions please?

You can buy ignition switches right here from iboats Mega Mall. I'm not sure which one you need but someone in the Johnson/Evinrude forum section will gladly help.

Or, pull the existing switch out and take it to a locksmith for a new key....

I did this, and it cost me $45 for them to impression and make a new key....Then I found brand new ignitions with keys at the local marine store for under $20. Call around and get a new ignition. There's just a few wires to hook up.

look at the front of the ignition switch, should have a number on it very small. call dealer most can order a key. you really don't want to disturb the wiring in a 40 year old controller. the insulation on the wiring is going to fall apart.
