Lost top end speed

So, this weekend I was at lake Isabella which is about 2300 feet above sea level, I was able to get up to speed and cruise around some (usually with my two and a half old child and wife, we cruise slow) and noticed my boat seems to have lost some top end speed. When I used to run my boat in lake Havasu, it would go about 45+ mph. This weekend, I only got to 42mph....It seems this boat should do better, its a 19 foot with a 5.7L and a 21 pitch prop. One friend of mine at work says the heat an altitude is what killed my speed, any thoughts?

A difference in 3mph, could easily be elevation, air temperature, difference in load - people, gear, fuel, wind and wave conditions, etc.

Do you have wot rpms and gps speed for eaither or both lakes? If you think you might have a performance issue, best to test it on the lake you have some prior comparison to.

Yeah... I know I have put on some weight, and I may have had an extra person too... My friend said I am being overly critical. Thanks.
