Loud metal knocking sound on yamaha F250

Is this the sound of rod knocking? when revved, it's louder. What should I do to be certain?

That awfully sounds like rod knock or piston slap.

Both are major expensive to fix.

Stop running that engine and do a compression and leak down test as well as inspect where that vapor was coming from. If that is crankcase vent then you probably broke a ring or hole in piston.

An inspection camera through spark plug hole would probably tell a lot without having to take off the engine head.

Sounds / looks like there is a hole in the engine block-----Time to shop for a new motor I think.----Where is that smoke / vapor coming from ?

Okay, it's definitely not good. The motor is fairly new, bought on february, how could that happen. I think I'll just take the dealership warranty

if you have a warranty, why are you asking here?
you are the only one that can inspect or have it tested , we sure cannot
