hey every one just got everything put back together on the boat. it's a 97 four winns horizon qx with a Volvo penta 3.0. new exhaust manifold reinstalled carb and riser. It was full of water in the oil pretty big leak in exhaust port from the water line.
so i changed oil and filter put in some mmo and sae 30 for the first run through. right when it hit about 160 started to squeal from what sounds like the water pump. when i was feeling around on the waterlines things are heated up but nothing was burning to the touch was running at 160. When i first tried to start it the motor kicked on but none of the belt were moving. shut it off right away and started to manually turn them and try again. took about 4 tries before they started to move. anyway it hit temp and is making a noise restarted it still made noise loosened alternator belt but that dint help. wondering where some place would be to look or spray a little deep creep whatever any one have any idea what i may have to replace next?

Either the belts are not tight enough, belts are worn out and need replaced, or one of the accessories (ALT, water pump, power steering, water pump) has a bearing issue

All the belts look brand new no wear or fraying. To replace the manifold I did take the alternator off but marked its position one the slide and put it back where it was. Impeller the water pump belt has a little slack to it is there anyway to add a little more tension. Also would I just be able to get a little Grease on the bearings. And how do I get to all of them. Appreciate any help

The bearings a sealed so no way to grease them. If they feel rough or hard to turn then its replacement time.

Tighten the belys so there is about 3/4 inch deflection in the longs free span of the belt

Its looking like the belt on the crank, circ pump , power stearing pump need to be replaced. fully maxed out on the tension slot and still pretty sloppy

How did you figure out this is where the leak was coming from? Btw I have the same boat as you.
