Went out and got 2 new back-back lounge seats for the boat. The seat frames and base are constructed from plastic instead of wood, meaning they will not rot.
In the fall I installed new carpeting in the boat. It is a very low pile indoor/outdoor carpet. I was wondering if I should bother cutting out the carpet in the area where the seats mount. When the seats are in the upright position there is good ventilation between the base and seat at each end.
Should I be concerned about the carpet staying wet under the seats or not worry about it? There is no doubt it WILL get wet and I don't want to end up with mold and mildew BUT I would rather keep the carpet if I can.
What are your thoughts?
