Low compression question

Hey guys, I posted on here before about this Motor I have on my boat at the current moment. It's a 90-92 (not exactly sure of the year since the I'd plate is missing if it had one) Johnson 225. It used to fire right up when I first bought it in July, took the boat out twice and it's been a PITA to start and keep running. It's like it happened over night out of nowhere, won't start on its own (have to put the remote to the left side and give it some throttle) and it eventually fires . I decarbed it twice and compression tested it. It was mid 60-70 across the board on all cylinders .is it anything you guys have seen before ? Is it worth saving? Any idea what may have caused this? Thanks again in advance!

Way too low .----Test with another gauge.------Perhaps pull one head to inspect cylinders.

Definitely check with another gauge before pulling the motor apart. It would be very unusual for the compression to be that low on all the cylinders out of the blue .

So if I pulled the cover off what exactly am I looking for? Scoring?
