I've got a low end ( idle to 2500 rpm ) skip on my 1994 150hp evinrude intruder. I have taken the carbs. ( 6 ), and put a kit in them, there was no trash in 4 of them, very little in the bottom two. I tried to clean all passage ways using 2o psi. air press.. It is hard to clean the passage way in the throttle body. Has anybody got a good method of doing this? I have also checked the resistance on the coils and plug wires....everything ok. Anybody with any suggestions would be welcomed.

Use carb cleaner in a spray can.

you mention throttle bodies, and carbs in the same post? but did you use all the parts in the carb kits? or just do the gaskets and easy parts? if the kit came with welch plugs, its a good idea to remove the old ones, clean the orifices with a small piece of wire, then replace.

If the throttle bodies have plates on them held in by two screws behind each carb, take them off and clean that area. This will also screw up your idle if there's any dirt in them.

Thanks for the reply lieutenant. The kits did not come w/welch plugs as there are none in the carb. The only parts that I didn't use were the ones that didn't apply to my carbs. ( Sierra kit ). I don't think carb cleaner would clean the low end passage, also may damage the engine, given it is a 2 stroke and the oil and gas mixture go through the carbs to the crankcase.
